TPB Bank has opened a new branch at Mto wa Mbu, in Monduli District, Arusha Region recently as it extend its services to the regions to the unbanked population and rural areas. Speaking during the opening ceremony, TPB Bank Board Chaiperson, Prof. Lettice Rutashobya said the opening of the new branch marks an important milestone to the bank's efforts to expand to new areas. ''We believe through the new branch, customers will benefit from various loan servisec we provide in our operations, we want to see them benefit from the modern services we are providing due to our investment in the bankingsectors, said Professor Rutashobya. The opening of Mto wa Mbu branch followed opening of anther branch at Mrombo area in Arusha region recently.The bank plans to open modern branches in Mpwapwa, Chato, Kondoa and Tarime, according to Prof Rutashobya.

The Dar es Salaam based Mwalimu Commercial Bank Plc (MCB) has extended its reach to more parts of the Country doing so through a strategic partnership with TPB Bank Plc (TPB).MCB chief executive officer Ronald Manongi said in Dar es salaam yesterday that the bank had embarked on a strategic partnership scheme to enable its customers to enhance their business operatin through having additional channels for ordinary business activities. The MCB/TPB partnership '' is in line with our (MCB) bank's vision of delivering services to where our customers are located,'' Mr. Manongi said, adding that '' the strategic collaboration is one of many channels that sre being considered to enable the bank to implement uts strategy aimed at increasing customer's access to services and also support the economic growth of the nation. The partnership will also ensure customer's transactions are more secure as automation will eliminate errors orginating from manual transactions. To elaboarate, the two banks have created a common platform that connects MCB wit all TPB Bank branches across Tanzania. In the event, both facilities have taken all measures neede to ensure a high level of security on their platforms, thereby giving comfort to customers on the sarfety and confidentiality of their transactions. For example, Mr Manongi said, when funds were deposited in TPB acccount any where in the country, the amount was just as soon reflected in the appropiate account as if the customer had actually called the MCB branch in person. For his part, TPB chiefexecutive officer Sabasaba Moshingi hailed the partnership averring tat his customer's would also benefit from the arrangements.

The Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB Bank) Limited has entered into a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) with the ''Zanzibar Social Security Fund,'' The latest milestone in an effort to improve access to finsce for life beginners, mainly graduates from higher learning institutions and those wishing to persue futher education. MoU between TPB Bank and Zanzibar Social Security Fund (ZSSF) is expected to facilitate funding for the pension Fund members to meet their priority like housing ( pay rent ) and furniture and futher education from the level of certificate to PhD, on condition of being admitted to any recognised institution. ''This is a historical event as we sign ana MoU to support our people,'' Mr. Mkame Mwadini Silima, Managing Director, said before the signing ceremony at the Pension Fund's Building, Kilimani in the municipality. He commended the Bank for accepting to support the 'education and start up life loans' for its (ZSSF) members, saying the signing concludes the discussions which started in 2014. TPB Bank provides loans to the ZSSF retired members. Speaaking on behalf of the TPB Bank, Mr Sabasaba Moshingi said the partnership will bwnwfit most of the ZSSF's 78,000 members improve life, urging Tanzanians to use the opportunity. ''The Scheme reduces pressure when starting life urging young Tanzanians to use the opportunity. '' The scheme reduces pressure when starting life and search for higher education. I passsed through the same test 23 years ago when I started life in Dr es Salaaam...,'' said Mr Moshingi, adding that similar programe has been implemented with Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) ad Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) in Dar es salaam. For those who ma be interested to benefit from educatuon and start up life loan they should be members of ZSSF for at least six months and members of the fund for two years or more if they wish to apply for higher learning loans and accept 12 per cent interest. Zanzibar Social Securit Fund was established under the Zanzibar Security Fund Act. No.2 of 1998 (amended), currently providing 'old age benefit and maternity benefit.'

The TPB Bank has launch a special promotion of Western Union services that will make customers go away with cash, mobile phones and laptops. Speaking yesterday in Dar es salaam, the bank's acting director of marketing and business develpment; Frank Mushi said that the competition is part of the bank's move to honour customers in the end of the year season. Mushi revealed that winners will go away with cash that would make them celebrate end year festivals smoothly as well as paying house rentals and paying School fees for their children as two users of the Western Union Services would get as much as 3ml/-. Apart from TPB Bank Plc , The competition also involves other players like Tanzania Post Corporation (TPC), Dar es salaam communiy Bank (DCB), Azania Bank Limited, Kagera Farmers Co- operative Bank Ltd (KFCB), Mwanga Community Bnk Limited (MCBL), Amana Bank, Uchumi Commecial Bank Plc (MB), Njombe Community Bank (NCB) and Mufindi Community Bank (MUCOBA). The promotion will run for the next three months; ending in January next year and will bring Western Union's customers closer to the Bank according to Mushi. ''For people to take part of this promotion, they need to send or receive moneythrough the Western Union in every TPB Bank branch'' he said adding that the first draw will be held mid November this year and the last one will be held in January 2018. The official clarified that awards will be given at the respective bank branch where the customers got the service. For her part, TPB Bank's acting manager of financial services, Rehema Mbunda called upon customers to take part in the promotion because of its importance.

TANZANIA, through TPB Bank has become one of the first three African countries to benifit from a MasterCard Foundation and Oxford Policy Management (OPM) initiative seeking to improve poor households' access to financial services in sb Saharan Africa. TPB will undertake the US$1 million (about 2.27bn/-) financial inclusion project in the country in collaoration with the saving at the Frontier (satF) programme, which is a partnership between Mstercard and OPM. The latter is a British international development consulting firm that helps low and middle income countries achieve growth and reduce poverty through policy reform. Accordingly to senior SatF official, the local lender was picked to implement the projrct in Tanzania because of its innovative mobile banking service , TPB popote, which is targets sideline and undeserved communities especially those living in the remotest part of the country.'' TBP is the First partener institution that SatF will be working with Tanzania, Ghana and Zambia,''SatF programme Manager Steven Peachey said at the joint press conference on Friday in Dar es salaam to announce the partership between the two.'' Accordingly to him, ''what attracted SatF to partner with TPB is the way the bank wants to help individuals to create their own groups with financial linkage built in from the start.'' The Partnership between two Organizations will help to connect the bank with savings groups in the country. Its Overall goal is to help Tanzanians in rural and peri- urban areas to save money safely and conveniently through their mobile phones. On his part, the CEO of TPB, Sabasaba Moshingi, said TPB was the First Bank in Tanzaniato introduce mass market mobile banking under the TPB popote digital service. The bank has now created o group mobile platform that allows group to save, take loans and make contributions to their Social fund, via their moble phones. Moshingi said the joint financial inclusion project will start i Ruvuma and then expand to Mtwara, Lindi, Njombe, Iringa and Mororgoro.
